Iberian Images
/The Road Trip
In April 2013 we did a three week road trip around the Iberian Peninsula - Spain and Portugal.
We started in Madrid, then south to Cordoba, and Ronda – the town that sits on a precipice.
And Grenada for the Alhambra.
Next was Tarifa (via a quick stop in Gibraltar) on the southern coast of Spain. Tarifa is only a 1 hour ferry ride away from Tangier in Morocco, so we went for lunch!
It was then west to Seville before heading into Portugal – the Algave (overnighting at Monchique), Lisbon, Porto and Parque Nacional da Peneda Geres in the far north of the country.
Back in Spain we visited a wet San Sebastian and sunny Barcelona, nearby Vic and Montserrat before leaving the Iberian Peninsula via the small Pyrenean nation of Andorra.
Three weeks was barely enough time to scratch the surface. We loved every minute and vowed to return one day.
In the spirit of nostalgia here are some of our favourite images from that trip.
